Premium video advertising specialists The Web TV Enterprise has partnered with i-rights, the digital arm of Digital Rights Group and teenage fashion site Stardoll to exclusively screen the second series of online comedy series Chelsey:OMG!
Series one was aired on social networking site Bebo last October. The latest instalments will be launched in August on Stardoll’s new video channel, Stardoll TV.
Chelsey:OMG! was created by comedian Nat Coombs and UK independent production company Channel X, which has worked with Ricky Gervais, Jonny Vegas and Matt Lucas. The show is primarily set in London, following young American girl Chelsey Hicks as she begins her internship in a fashion marketing company. The new series sees Chelsey starting a job in the Stardoll offices; each episode incorporates current affairs, breaking news stories and celebrity gossip. Brands that sponsor the show are integrated into the script through film launches, cosmetic features and clothing shops. The Web TV Enterprise is currently in discussion with leading brands, confirming sponsorship relating to the young female audience.
Chelsey:OMG! series one extended user interaction with blog entries on fashion websites, video diaries asking viewers to email advice and guest stars such as fashion designer Giles Deacon. Last year Bliss magazine’s website featured a video-blog of Chelsey reading a new issue of the magazine, commenting on various pages and celebrity references. Another example of brand inclusion saw Chelsey attending an interview at thelondonpaper, with the paper subsequently publishing a feature on the upsurge of online TV.
The Web TV Enterprise secured sponsorship for series one with pre-roll campaigns including feature film ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ and COI drug awareness campaign ‘Pablo the Cocaine Mule.’
Stardoll is the largest online community aimed at young females aged 7 to 17 with over 30,000,000 active users. Users can create their own ‘MeDoll’ avatar figure or choose from a constantly updated collection of celebrity dolls, dressing them in a selection of outfits. Celebrity dolls include Lily Allen, Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus.
Chelsey:OMG! is the first series to be commissioned by Stardoll TV.
